One of my favorite quotes is from
Lou Gehrig
"Today, I consider myself
the luckiest man on the face
of the Earth."
We don't get to choose the hand we are dealt.
Born and raised in Spanish Fork, Utah, I have been playing baseball ever since I could remember. I was fortunate to play on the 2015 4A state championship team at Spanish Fork High. After high school, I went and played baseball at Southern Virginia University as both an infielder and a pitcher. As a freshman I led the team with 8 home runs and as a junior I threw the programs first no-hitter.
While in Virginia, I met my wife Megan who was a pitcher for the softball team. Both of our senior seasons of baseball/softball were cut short due to COVID in 2020. Once that happened, I knew I wanted to stay around the game and coaching has been a dream come true for me. I like to remind my players that you truly never know when you will play your last game.
But we get to choose how we respond.
My main goal as a coach is to use the game of baseball to prepare, and assist my players in their future. So much of who I am, and what I do every day comes from lessons I learned playing baseball. I hope to pass on some of those lessons and experiences so that they can have their own. I love the game of baseball and am so lucky to be in the position that I am.
